HISTORY
Dennis (Jake) McGrath and Thomas Carella founded Furrin Auto in December of 1971
and opened their first shop in February of 1972 on South Monroe Street. Working only on
Volkswagens they moved in 1974 to Tennessee Street. In 1975 Tom bought out Dennis
and through dedication and planning the company has grown into one of the leading auto
repair and service centers in North Florida. In 1979 Professional Automotive was
acquired to expand into servicing the Japanese import. In 1993 Furrin Auto Parts
Warehouse (FAPW) was formed as a separate group and moved to 730 West Gaines Street in
order to better serve the wholesale parts trade.
